i have just installed gnomeshell on ubuntu 9.10 nbr everything is ok except that i have to have the netbook launcher running inorder to have a wallpaper if i dont i end up with a plain blue screen on my netbook is there a work around or a fix as i dont want the netbook launcher running all the time.

alt f2 launch run box
gconf-editor
Then navigate the tree to ( / > apps > nautilus > preferences )
Make sure you have "preferences" clicked on.
Then on the right scroll down to "show_desktop", checked it
