I am trying to setup a dual boot configuration on a Dell Laptop. I have a 320GB HDD with 3 partitions. Windows XP lives in the first partition, I am trying to install Ubuntu 9.04 (that's the CD I have) in the second one and the third partition is for data.
I used the CD and selected install inside of Windows. From the drop-down I selected the second partition (E)and accepted the defaults from there.
When I reboot I am prompted to select Windows XP (1st) or Ubuntu. When I select Ubuntu I get a GRUB> prompt and that's as far as I get. I tried entering boot - it didn't like that and said the Kernel must be loaded first. I am sure it has got to be some thing simple I'm missing. At least windows loads ;)
