Facebook Chat

I was just browsing around the forums with a few tabs and windows open in Firefox and the computer started to lag - I checked my system monitor and noticed CPU usage for Firefox was fluctuating between 40 and 80% - I started closing Windows and re opening them totry and find the cause, and I believe Facebook chat to be the culprit.

Anyone else noticed this when using Facebook chat? Seems awfully high and the old one (the pop out chat in the bottom right hand corner) didn't do that...

Processor is Pentium M running at 1.6 ghz - so it's not the most powerful by a long shot.

I haven't run into that, but I'm not surprised. facebook can be pretty wonky at times, irrespective of the browser/OS combo you're using to view it.

That's what you get when you make a site that loaded with client-side scripting.

yes it can be wonky , stayed up till i logged of long after the chat had ended

I've noticed that my machine tends like lag like hell if I've got 2 chats going at once. 3.16Ghz with 8GB of RAM running the latest version of FF.
