Ubuntu Is Not Finding My Hard Drive

I have a mini hp 2133 with windows vista home basic which may i add sucks big time. I'm trying to install Ubuntu Remix on it but during the prepare partition part i get the same screen

mini hp 2133 does not have a DVD or CD ROM. So i'm installing this form a USB.

It happens sometimes that the Live CD installer doesn't find the HD in the computer. The usual advice is to try the alternate CD, which has a different partitioning tool, and generally solves the problem. I had the problem, and the alternate CD was the solution.

I have no idea if you can make a USB installer out of the alternate CD, or if you can, how to do it.

I was trying to install Xp but i have the same problem :(
Does someone now. I do not want to switch back to Vista :(
