View Full Version : [gnome] Keyboard without led needs applet to display Lock status

I bought a wireless keyboard (brand Essentiel b, type Slim Duo) that is just perfect to slip into the drawer of the desk after use but that (for obvious energy sparing reasons) does not have the traditional three leds corresponding to CapsLock, NumLock and ScrollLock.

This can be an annoyance in some cases and I'd like to have visual memos on the desktop remembering the user what the status of the keyboard modifiers are, a bit the same as the one showing (under Windows) the configuration of the current keyboard language configuration choice in case of multi-language support choice (eg. english/french/german/etc).

Can anyone point to (or design? :) a nice applet that would do that in the Gnome Desktop user dashboard on top of the display?

TIA.

Try lock-keys-applet. It does exactly what you're looking for.
