Hi, I've been experiencing problems all morning trying to get 9.10 installed on a Dell Studio 1535 (WSOD, fixed by using noapic and nomodeset which allowed me to use the graphical installer), but these options are evidently not kept for use when the OS is actually installed, so when Ubuntu tries to boot, I just get a WSOD with coloured lines running down the screen.

I have tried both ctrl+alt+f1 and ctrl+alt+backspace a minute or so after I hear the logon music (I set it to automatically login), both suggested as ways to get back to a prompt, but neither of them seem to do anything, I would expect it to get rid of the whiteness and show the prompt, but it doesn't even seem to cause any activity at all.

How can I go about setting noapic and nomodeset?

Thanks. :)
