If I had problems with 9.10, would 9.04 better?

I install ubuntu 9.10 dual boot with win7. And had lots of problems with startup. I can live with the wrong screen resolution, but lots of times I can't even boot into ubuntu. When boot in recovery mode, it also hangs, showing cannot find drivers for Nvidia card.
I tried reinstalling drivers from hardware devices, but no permanent solution.

I'm thinking about installing ubuntu 9.04. Will I run into the same booting up problems?

try envy, its in the software center. this may resolve your driver problem.
