Hello, apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find anywhere better to put it.
I'm looking to buy a new video camera. Currently we use the Sony Handycam DCR-HC51E which is excellent. (An example of a film of ours made with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTc-BQjCilQ)
Anyway, we want to buy a new camera, the important factors are:
* We want HD recording
* A microphone input is essential - 3.5mm or XLR or something else? (this is really hard to find on cheap cameras)
* Must attach to (standard?) Sony tripods that we own
* Price: as low as possible, but absolute limit of £500
We are quite open minded as to other features (e.g. tape/HDD/etc) and the manufacturer. Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations?
