Hello,

I just got screens from Mint, but I have the same problem with KK.

To be short, the thing is that if I set my screen resolution to 1280x1024, the desktop gets inactive like the pictures you can see above.
I can navigate through folders though...

I used to use Karmic Koala, and at first I didn't had this problem, back then I was able to use 1280x1024... but for some reason I can't remember I was forced to format my Linux drive. So, I Installed Ubuntu and so like right now, I wasn't able to use the resolution I wanted to.
The only thing different I did during the configuration screen was setting shared folder (I guess it would be something like that in English) with my Windows drive, but only the Music folder!. I don't know if the problem could be something related to that.

Now, on Mint I've just installed it this morning and I have the same problem. Well, I can login with the Backup-GNOME but if I login that way I can't access my Windows drive the same way I do on the original-GNOME session (Authentication Failed or something like that). For that reason I guess it could be something related with services that are started on the original-GNOME but not on the backup-GNOME that may be messing up,,,

My monitor is a LG Flatron 19" and my graphics card is an old ATi Radeon.

So, do you have something in my that can solve my problem? I have to admit that I'm kinda noob on Linux... hehe.
