i recently saw one of my friends desktop in which it gave some fire effects when he opened and closed the windows from the shortcuts can any one say about how to set that even in my computer

Have you got compiz up and running with compizconfig-settings-manager installed ?

System > Preferences > CompizConfig Settings Manager

Enable Effects > Animations Add-On

Click on the Burn down arrow to set as required.
