Hi friends,
I'm a music lover, always hearing some songs.. In windows we ve a feature like add to windows media player's playlist, which enables us to add music files from everywhere in our directory to playlist. Is there any way to do the same job in Ubuntu 9.10 also.

Thanks for ur reply,
Dharanitharan.

So open up Totem, and press F9. (Or go to View > Side Bar) A side bar should open up. There should be a drop down menu from the top. Click it and go to Playlist (if it isn't there already). In that playlist option you can add songs, and save the playlist to open up later. (Just double click the file).

But if you really want some sort of music organizer, I would suggest Amorak or Songbird. Much better for making playlists and organizing.

Hope that helps!

For music playing Totem is not quite as feature rich as say Rhythmbox or Banshee. You might be better served using one of those for your music playing.

That said there is a 'playlist'
View > Sidebar Use the selector in the sidebar to select playlist
Then you can drag and drop files from your music directories into the playlist.

I get what you're saying, though I don't have a definite answer. Might there be a nautilus script for this, anyone know? They have different scripts over at gnome-look.org.

Hi all, i actually implemented it in the C programming Language 2 years ago. And have been using it for myself since then until i saw this thread which prompted me to create a project for it on launchpad. Human beings will have to wait until a debian package is created for it. For the zombies like me, you are welcome to come have a launch with me at my branch available here: https://launchpad.net/totemaddtoplaylists

Thanks for sharing and please do not post in threads that have not had activity for a year or longer, since this is an old thread it has been closed.
