OK,
I have a Dell Poweredge 1850 dual processor server. I run ubuntu 8.10 server with no problems. Video is fine. If I choose the upgrade option to install 9.04 the fonts get all messed up and the video acts as if the windows are choppy and leave an outline when they are moved.
I would like to upgrade but I am having a problem convincing myself to migrate from a stable environment to one that may not work as well on this older machine.
Does anyone else out there use the 1850 with 9.04 or 9.1 successfully that might give me some pointers on working this out. I have 5 of them to upgrade if I can get it figured out.
Troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated. Or a link to an appropriate thread, my search didn't turn up much.
