Is it possible to install Ubuntu to a hard drive hooked up to a computer via a USB cable. The reason I want to try this is because a person gave me a Dell Latitude C600 laptop computer with a dead hard drive. I've been unable to install to the laptop because the BIOS won't recognize the CD drive. I've changed out both the CD drive and hard drive, but still can't install. I Googled this problem and found it's fairly common with Dell laptops. I have a devise that allows me to hook up a hard drive via USB. Thanks.

yes. from my own experience, just do the normal installation, as you would with a normal hard disk
