View Full Version : [ubuntu] No CD/DVD-ROM settings to mount .iso file in VirtualBox

In my virtual box there is no CD/DVD-Rom settings part to mount my .iso image file? Anyone know why?:confused:

Yes, but I don't have the bit saying CD/DVD-ROM, as it shows in this image.

I also noticed that the CD/DVD-ROM option has disappeared. I believe it's normal. I think you're supposed to go to "Storage" and under "IDE Controller" your CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drive will be listed. Select your optical drive, then look to the right where there should be a little icon where you click on the "Virtual Media Manager" and from there you should be able to browse for your ISO and mount it.

Anyone confirm this? Or am I an idiot :)

Alright well I just went ahead and confirmed it for myself by trying it. For the hell of it, I'm installing CentOS as the guest on my Ubuntu host using the method I described. It booted up to the CentOS installation process just fine using the ISO.

So are you go to go Satans Wyrda?

I am have the same problem booting .iso onto VMBox OSE-natty, can any one assist. you can inbox me to wamarobert@hotmail.com
