I have been trying for a fews days to get this to work. Searching forums and trying things but still no luck. New to Ubuntu and trying hard to like it but it is hard when it will not work. I have Win XP on the first HD and Ubuntu on the 2nd.

When I boot I get sh:grub> There is no grub menu at all and I have tried holding shift down when booting.

Please help.

Here is my Results.txt

Try booting and go into BIOS and making your 10 GB disk first to boot in the hard disk boot order. If this is not possible in BIOS then you will have to set the 10 GB disk (sdb) as master either with jumpers or Cable select- which ever method your machine uses. This will bring up GRUB on sdb and should be able to boot into Ubuntu. Once in Ubuntu open a terminal and run
sudo update-grub

That will refresh grub.cfg. Now reboot and try booting into windows.

P.S. You messed up and installed GRUB not only on both MBRs but also on the windows partition. See red below:

For to start the Windows XP, go to BIOS, press the key DEL(DELETE) during the early stages of boot.
In the BIOS, put the Hard Disk of the Windows XP as Second Boot Device, and as First Boot Device -CD ROM-

For Fix the MBR of HD of Windows XP see:
1)http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/fix-mbr-xp-vista/

2)http://www.techzonez.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3975

EDIT
For FIX the MBR of HD of Windows XP, WITHOUT the CD of installation of the Windows XP, use Super GRub Disk, see:

OBS2- SuperGrubDisk Version 0.9799 only Fix Boot of Ubuntu 9.04-with Grub Legacy-Grub-version 0.97- BUT FIX THE BOOT of the WINDOWS XP-ANY VERSION OF THE WINDOWS XP-

2)MBR, see:

EDIT 1
Always, for to Install and to Start Ubuntu, to put your 2nd HD as Second Boot Device in the BIOS. and as First Boot Device-CD ROM-

Is was able to get Grub up and running. I did have to swap the drives and fix the jumper settings to be cable select. Then I fixed the MBR on the window drive with a repair disk I had. Also went and deleted those files.

Still wonder why I had to make the Ubuntu drive the first? Would think that grub should work for the windows drive and then boot into Ubuntu for list.

Thanks for the help.
