i need to put ubuntu on many computers. most of them have DIFFERENT hardware. i tried using remastersys and other iso backup software but nothing worked. remastersys took up all my space and only reached 20%. i would like to be able to save quite a few apps for those other installations. every computer will need my apps which will take a long time to install on each computer. any ideas?
if there is an easy approach to saving BOTH settings and apps please let me know.

have a look here

at the section "modify pool structure..."
I think that is one way to achieve what you want.

looks good, but most of the commands are coming up saying command not found. are there any other solutions?
