I want to test a different browser.
I am using
Linux ubuntu 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 17:01:44 UTC 2009 x86_6

I want to install the browser opera. how do I do this ?

This should guide you through the installation:

http://www.opera.com/browser/download/
After you download the file just double-click it to install.

If you're just trying other browsers I would also recommend Google Chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome).

I'm glad it works. I also like epiphany (fast) and links2 with the -g flag (really fast and nice to have when x is broken).

I am positively surprised how fast opera is, great product.
