Hi !
So i have this setup :
3x320gb hard disks ( Windows,Ubuntu,backup)
2x1 Tb hard disks ( nothing yet )
I ordered an hard disk backplane with hot swap and room for 4 hard disks.
I was thinking about going same setup as now and 1TB for data and 1TB for backup but it seems a little confused having multiple backup disks and multiple partitions.
Should i buy another 1TB hard disk and go raid5?
I think raid without ECC ram is pretty bad though, happened to me before that one bad ram stick screwed up badly my raid1 setup.
So the question is what would be the best setup to maximize storage and still have a secure backup for ALL my data?
