Good day, everyone!
Well, I really loved the Entertainer Media Center project, but I don't see new versions on Lanchpad since May 2009. It also seems they removed content from their site (http://www.entertainer-project.com/index.php). So, is the project closed or what?

Thanks in advance!

I think it's still being worked on (I work with one of the devs) but it's been slow (almost non-existent). I'll ask him today.

he said that the project kinda dropped out but there are still 2 or 3 people maintaining it.

chances are it will not come to fruition.

Bad news if you ask me... I still think this project was the best.

I admit, I was a big fan of it as well, and so was my friend. He is now working on another project, and this one is quite innovative itself.

Well, I generally think Entertainer's architecture was too complicated from scratch. Yet, Python, correct me if I'm wrong but I doubt it's great for such an application...

Tried it. I don't like it much. But that's just me... :)

You might take a look at XBMC for Linux (http://xbmc.org/download/) The Linux port of the great XBMC has come a long way and is very usable at this point.
