I can't figure out how to specify a particular scan size in xsane. The only place I can find to change size is in preview, where there is a drop down list of choices including letter port. How do I specify an arbitrary size in inches?

Running Ubuntu 9.10

In the xsane main window, click on "Window" and then on "Show advanced Options." This dialog contains predefined settings for scan size or you can manually change the width and height to whatever you like.

You change to inches or other unit by clicking in the xsane main window on "View" and then by scrolling down to "Length unit."

Thanks.

I must say, that's pretty user unfriendly dialogs in xsane. "Geometry"? And it still arbitrarily limits me for an unknown reason - my scanner will handle up to 8.75" but it automatically reduces 8.5" to 8.46" for no obvious reason.

Anyway, appreciate the assistance.
