Hey everyone,
I just downloaded j2sdk 1.5 and jre 1.5 for linux from sun.Its a sh file so i installed on the system.When ever i use javac on the prompt , its says file not found.What should i do to get it work.I added the path at the etc/profile in the give path files (Merged it basically) .So looking for some help here!

Hey Hod ,
Thanks for the link, but i am still not able to configure it.Basically i use ubuntu on my laptop and it doesn't have a net connection.I got the sun jdk and jre setup files.I have installed them also, but as per the link i tried updating the default compiler but i don't get any option of sun java there.So any one who can help me wit step by step installation of this!

It sounds like you still need to install Sun's binaries. See the ubuntu wiki RestrictedFormats java (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RestrictedFormats#head-e2ebd70ede0e3eb2117ffbd618d2295dd1540dca) section for how to do this.
