So I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, I've already set nautilus to not handle the wallpapers and I've used compiz wallpaper plugin to display 6 different sections of a panorama that I cut up.

The thing is though when I switch between desktops the way the compiz chooses to change from one wallpaper to the other it's as if the one I was at is moving out of the way to reveal the one I'm changing to behind it.

This kinda' breaks u the whole panoramic effect, I was hoping that there may be a way to get compiz to change the wallpapers when switching from desktop to desktop so it works more like the effect shown in this video with the n900.

Thank you,
Aaron :)

Let us know if you found a solution. As I had my N900 I was kind of surprised that there was no solution for Ubuntu. There is a wallpaper plugin for compiz which you can try, unfortunately there is also an old bug in Nautilus which makes this plugin effectless.
