For fans of the old Dan Aykroyd / John Belushi movie "The Blues Brothers" (and I would be one of them :) ), the mall they had the car chase in, Dixie Sqyuare Mall, is to be torn down this week.

However all week long they will be giving away bricks from the mall! Cost: Free! Just show up, and they'll give you one or a couple!

Story here:

Dixie Square Mall is located on Dixie Highway in Harvey IL, just off of I 294

Its in the big empty area next to cooper park.

My favorite take of the Blues Brothers was the 2000 one.

Mind you, these are bricks, so they may not be cheap.

I'm going to head up there either Thursday or Saturday, and I'll grab some. Then we'll figure out shipping.

It's got a LINUX KERNEL: compiled for i686. It's got the bash shell, GNU tools, GCC. It's a model made before DRM so it'll run good on regular computers. What do you say, is this the new Ubuntumobile, or what?

This is NOT a mission from God.

Of course what do I know - the Original Blues Brothers and Howard the Duck are two of my all time favorite movies.
