Hello all

Maybe one of you can lend me a hand with this:

As you may have noticed, this should be a vnc session connecting from a windows 7 client, however it misses all icons. Trying this with kde yields also a very faulty color display.

I have no idea where to start debugging.
And I also have no idea if maybe another way of starting vnc would give me better results. I use an age old script for starting the vncserver, not the build in vino thing as I seem to not be able to connect to it from the windows client (maybe I'm connecting wrong?).
I tried FreeNX a year or so ago, but the windows client wouldn't display anything, it ceased any activity after saying it was connected.
There is no firewall in the way.

Help greatly appreciated.

Have you tried NX from nomachine.com ?? Client for winders and Client, Node, Server for Linux.

Just plain works.
