Video card Driver Probleme! please help!

hi, i am new in linux and i have a problame finding my video card driver...

i have a:
HIS Radeon X1050 HyperMemory 256MB DDR


it works in ubuntu 8.4 but the login screen did not show....amd now i am interested if i can make my videoCard work in ubuntu 9.10...

please help me!

btw: ubuntu is awesome!!!!

It worked in 8.04 because, back then, there WAS an ATI driver for your card. Since then, ATI has dropped support for your card (along with lots of others). so now, there is no ATI driver you can install.

If you're seeing a graphical desktop, you already have the default open source driver installed -- and that is all this is available now.
