i will be the first to admit- i dont know much about computers. that being said, i was in the process of upgrading my ubuntu system (probably the latest version, it was about a month ago) and my computer froze (it does that on occasion). i have looked around this site, and tried a few things. i assume im supposed to use the command "sudo dpkg --configure -a" to fix it. the problem is that when i do that, i get the message "dpkg: unable to access dpkg status area: read-only file system". so, what do i do now? i definatly dont want to mess up my system, but i want to fix it. thanks!!
