Not an advert. It is for Ubuntu Geek's Forum.

Why do you think the link to the site above is pointless, UbuntuGeeks has quite a few good tutorials, the more help the better.

It's nice to have a few sites bookmarked for support and discussion, especially forums. Even more so if they allow discussions / topics etc that are frowned upon on the official Ubuntu Forums.

So no, this isn't pointless :)

You don't endorse it, but do you repudiate it?

It is kind of cruddy that the founder of that forum had to go and use the same name as the founder of the official Ubuntu forum.

Hmm isn't it rather counterproductive to have two Ubuntu forums instead of one?

exactly my thoughts, there is lots of people here already it would be better to keep them in one place.

Any forum will stand or fall by it's own merits, if it is good, it will do well, if it isn't, it'll wither away.

Too many adverts for my liking.

New Ubuntu Geek Forum!

there, title fixed. :)

I suppose the discussion would mainly surround from Ubuntu geek's tutorial? I don't see why it won't be beneficial to the community.

+ 1 for the "Ubuntu geek forum"

"Keep them in one place"? What, like prisoners? Doesn't it occur to you that maybe some people don't like this site? I think it's okay; and it's grrreat for support... but the rules can be rather overbearing at times. Not that I use any other Ubuntu-related forum. But I can see why someone else might want to.

And there are more than two (or even three) Ubuntu-related forums. Do a Google-type search for "ubuntu forum" and look at the results.

Yes... but it also creates problems for the users. Let's say that someone has a rather unusual problem with Ubuntu. He looks for an Ubuntu forum, and finds one, such as this one. However, since it's an unusual problem, no one here knows how to help him. There's someone who had the same problem, but he's on another Ubuntu forum. If there was only one forum, that person would probably be here to help him.

So, we can discuss about Stallman's underwear there without getting an infraction?
