Black screen

Hello!

I am new in the whole Ubuntu scene but decided to try it on my laptop. And because I am new I downloaded Wubi.

I thought it would be easy, and at first it was: Download Wubi - Open file - Fill in etc. - Than it loads everything - than it says its done and it can reboot - so I hit the 'reboot now!' button and there it goes..

I see the phoenix bios screen than I get tho choose between Windows 7 or Ubuntu

So I pick Ubuntu ( Doh.. )

And it shows a timer to make it restart in other ways, and I just wait so it can finish the install as the screen says..

Than I get this picture, grey ( Prolly ubuntu sign ) a bit glowing, it goes away, and than my screen stays empty !

My laptop:

HP Pavilion dv9000
AMD Turion TL-64 - 2.20 GHZ
3.00 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS
2x 160 GB HDD

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on the :C drive, and installed Ubuntu there too.

So, any idea what it kan be ?

I spend few hours searching the web and this website but couldnt find any specific answers..

I guess you could try having Ubuntu boot in recovery mode. See what errors it gives you.

Before you do that, after you choose your operating system it should let you choose an option for safe graphics mode. I think you hit F4 for it or something similar, it should tell you. That's just for it to finish the install.

Ah thank you very much, as soon as I am back ill try !

EDIT: I reinstalled Wubi, did the safe graphic mode, and now it just runs :D

Really great, now I can explore the world of Ubuntu too
