Hello, everyone,

I have a problem with my modem, Z025a AnyData http://www.zapp.ro/en/business/terminals/modems/cdma/z025a/

Now, to give you all the details.
I have a dual boot system: Ubuntu 9.04 and Windows XP. The problem is the following:
If I boot directly into Ubuntu, the system doesn't recognize my modem.
On the other hand, if I first boot into Windows, then restart and boot into Ubuntu, the system recognizes my modem and my Internet connection is working.
How can I fix this?

Thanks,
Lucian

plug in your modem to your computer

type

lsusb

into a terminal and

1) copy and paste the results back here

(the top line of the terminal has an EDIT menu, and you can find a copy command there)

2) your modem should be described by two sets of numbers:

Vendor ID and Product ID;

if you enter those into google;

such as

ubuntu 12d1:1003

you should get some suggestions to follow up on, yourself

(the above Vendor ID and Product ID is for a Huawei E220 modem
