No login screen ready or login successful sounds

With the karmic 9.10 Xubuntu there are no login screen ready, login successful or logout sounds, and apparently nowhere to change this situation.

Have these been removed from Xubuntu now or is there a way to get them working.

I would have thought these were essential tools for partially sighted users? (not that I am, yet!) but I miss the jolly do-dum of Jaunty

Mine never made a sound. No African drum licks, no whoosh, no chimes, no nuthin'.

It's okay with me. I auto-login anyway... press the power button and go fill a coffee cup. By the time I return to the desk a few seconds later I have the desktop all nice 'n' pretty.

I don't think there's supposed to be any sound on login with Karmic Xubuntu.
