My setup at the moment is a computer with Ubuntu connected via network cable and router to a xbox with xbmc installed, and following a large set of instructions which involved editing the smb.conf file.
I now have a xp pro machine and have added it to the network, what i want is for each machines to be able to access each other.
So for the xbox to access shared folders from xp and ubuntu
For ubuntu to access shared folders from xp, allow ssh commands, allow vnc
For xp to access shared ubuntu folders and control ubuntu via ssh and vnc

I believe it has to be a user and security issue, i dont mind changing usernames and passwords etc, i just would like some help setting these 3 machines to work in harmony

Is the sharing working between the Ubuntu box and Xbox? You will need to install ssh-server (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SSH). Here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VNC) is a help page for VNC.
