Hi, before the weekend I had 9.04 running on my PC alongside Windows XP. The machine has 3 hard drives, XP being on C: (40 Gig disk) and Ubuntu in a 10 Gig partition on D: (80 Gig disk). This had been running fine for a few months. I decided to upgrade to 9.10 which appeared to be successful except it wouldn't let me log in (including the root account for which I had previously set a password). I then wiped the D drive and reinstalled from a 9.10 disk and it installed again on the D drive in a 40 Gig partition. At first this worked fine, then yesterday (monday) I couldn't login to my account. I did get in as root - but only the first time. After I logged out and tried again as me and as root I could no longer get in.
I can get in using recovery mode.
Anyone else had a similar problem or can suggest how to fix it?
