I'm not sure if I posted this in the right place...

I am a high school student doing a project for school, capstone, and I need a mentor. The way it works is I need to write a research paper but need someone, a mentor, to guide me through and help me out,(It's actually required of me.).

I'm trying to do my paper on problems with remote administration.

If any one is interested in helping me out than big thanks! The only thing is you are required to be working in that field. (Of computers I guess...)

The whole thing can be done through e-mails. And If you are interested and want more info just post or PM me.

Your school requires you to ask strangers on the Internet to help you with your homework? Really?

I'm sure it simply requires that he interface with an expert and he can't find one locally. Though, he probably could.

Do you not have teachers that do that at school to mentor you??
I dont see any school sending you out to find a complete stranger to give you advice, even if its just school work. I call shenanigans!

Yeah, in one of my early writing classes in college, I had to do a paper that required me to interview a professional in order to gain a better understanding of a topic and then to write a paper about it. I interviewed a lawyer. It was actually a pretty fun project. However, I wasn't supposed to find a stranger. It was preferable if you knew a working professional, but if not, you were supposed to introduce yourself to one. Luckily for me I knew my contact.

I guess if I had to do something like that in college I would have to interview myself. :)

Yea just going back. At least I am not the oldest one going now (age 32).
I was in college 10+ years ago, had financial issues and had to withdraw. Then went to the military for 6 1/2 years. Since jobs are getting hard to get around here I am going back. Bought my books today matter of fact.

Yeah, I hear that. Jobs are super hard to come by where I'm from. I just moved to a different university, partially as a result of that but also because I wanted a better education. I'm in my mid 20's and am only a sophomore. (because I slacker).

Thank god we get to go to college free of charge... Go highest taxes in the world, go!!

Ahem, sorry. Just a happy socialist. Certainly can't mentor anyone on that subject.

We've seen people cheat on their tests and interviews here, but I think asking for someone to privately cheat for them is a new one.

I think its sad that someone asks for help and right off gets told to get it at their college. Learning is about finding out and discovery!...about broadening ones outlook and ones mind..not about sucking up only with the straw your school gives you...I'm not very IT savvy so I can't help there..but I'd be glad to help with any other aspect such as language, layout, presentation etc..and would help anybody out there who so desired (time and health permitting)

I am not trying to cheat... I went looking for people to help me out. Some don't return phone calls others didn't want to or said they couldn't. I'm not allowed to ask a teacher to be a mentor either. How it works is that I need to have an interview with a professional and ask them their permission to record or copy the interview as my main source to site.

Then maybe you should reword or rephrase your thread and put it out again and see what comes back or even send some of the moderators a private message asking for help...if at first you don't suceed! ...just try to ignore any really negative replies and put it down to a lack of understanding maybe....good luck:popcorn:

If you aren't cheating then that makes it even worse. In that case, you are the victim of incompetent teachers and their idiot administration who are responsible. Their primary role in your education is to assign you mentors that can responsibly oversee your research projects. It wouldn't surprise me, but honestly someone here is cheating someone. Of that, I have no doubt.
