Is it possible to run programs with wine on a linux-only system? I did use wine to operate programs on my NTFS drive before, but now I don't have one. So, I don't know how or if it's possible.

spanks.

Yes. WINE really has nothing to do with windows. However, you might then need to download some .dll for certain programs.

In Wine's configuration folder in your /home folder, it actually makes kind of a virtual C: drive. When you install Windows programs with Wine, it puts it right there in your C: drive folder right in your /home folder.

You don't ever need NTFS or anything from Windows other than a dll once in a while to work around issues with problem apps.

Wine's brilliant, and if you have trouble getting stuff to run, get winetricks and use it to install the obvious stuff like msxml, vbrun, directx etc. With those added almost anything should run just fine.
