compiz settings

Been playing with compiz a little on my laptop running 9.04. I have a few of the settings set as I don't need a lot, just a little eye candy to show off to my colleagues and i don't want to slow it down too much. I have been trying to get the water effects to work, but have been unable to do so. I changed the activation key set up to Super and W to see if that would work as stated in a previous post, but it did not. I have only seen the water effects on some you tube videos and would love to get them working.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.

What is the make/model of your graphics card, as some of the older ones may not support the water feature.

Even if you do get it working, it is fun for about a minute and a half ;-)

What's the output of these terminal commands..


lspci | grep VGA

glxinfo | grep GL_ARB_fragment

I think you are out of luck, you won't get the water plugin working with that hardware.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm.

Thanks, I will try it on my desktop just for kicks. It has a NVidia Geforce 6200. It should work there.
