Having upgraded to Karmic I notice that a number of my software sources are now unticked. I have traced them back to the sources and they do not have karmic distributions.

When karmic distributions become available will Karmic switch on the software sources to find out if there are updates?

In the meantime should I edit the distributions making them Jaunty and then tick the source boxes?

I don't think Ubuntu automatically resolves third-party repository updates. You're going to need to check those yourself.

For example, if you used Medibuntu, check the following page:

http://packages.medibuntu.org/

Since they indicate support for karmic, you may then update that source. Make sure you follow any instructions they give as those may change from one release to the next.
