Does anyone out there know if there is a adobe shockwave like program for ubuntu? Please respond would really like to get rosetta stone working on my comp. Thanks in advance.

yes there is a swf player, open synaptic and search 'swf' or in terminal


sudo aptitude search swf

it will list you available softwares, i think that one is named swfplayer... anyway there is.

If you meant an adobe flash player, try searching for swf in the software centre. If you meant an adobe shockwave player (files created by macromedia director, .dmg) I think that there is no linux player available.
