problems upgrading to Koala Ubuntu and Kubuntu both installed

I tried to upgrade through Ubuntu Jaunty .04 to Koala but couldn't, I think it had something to do with the Kubuntu I have dowloaded also, (like it goes to the same splash screen and I choose if I want to go to Ubuntu or Kubuntu)

the kubuntu is on the 8. version.

how do I fix this so I can upgrade to Koala?

Its better for you to do the fresh install rather than upgrade.
Upgrade sometimes has a problem..
