In terminal ... (let's work on the pubkey error)...one at a time:

gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv DCF9F87B6DFBCBAE

gpg --export --armor DCF9F87B6DFBCBAE | sudo apt-key add -

sudo apt-get update

I inlcuded the first pubkey in the codes above. Do that format for the next pubkey you see. You can also use the last 8 digits of the key.

Post back errors.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm not getting any error messages, however, Update Manager hasn't shown me any new updates in well over a week.

It looks like part of you're problem is that you installed packages from ppa's and either didn't get or erased the keys for them. It also looks like you might be having issues with connectivity.

Dear raymondh,

thanks a lot for your early reply, I already tried to do what you advised me to do for these two Pubkey DCF9F87B6DFBCBAE & D0D3C959DB2035A6

but after I run sudo apt-get update I got same problem.

I am using 9.04.

System > software sources > ubuntu software > Download from (and choose a different site) > close synaptic

Then run in terminal again

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

PS. I normally ask my system to select OTHER and then 'selct best available source'.

unfortunately, I went to Software sources and tried to delete the third party software but it is shown up again every time I press Revert.

then I deleted the keys D0D3C959DB2035A6 & 40976EAF437D05B5 from Software window then Authentication.

Try it without pressing "Revert".
And yes, there have been no updates for about a week. Holidays and all probably so I wouldn't worry.
