Messing around in the boot loader isn't something I'm terribly comfortable with. I need to watch what is happening while the system is loading Kernel Modules because of some sound issues. How to I force the system to boot in recovery mode with Grub 2? Or can I find a log of the entire boot process?

Thanks in advance.

In grub2 you now press the space bar to "unhide" the grub menu at boot, whereas with legacy grub you pressed the Esc key.
