Just answering this plea (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8582434#post8582434).

Anyways, New Year's Eve is just a few hours away. I'd like to wish everyone here a happy and great New Year.

La nochevieja está viniendo. Les deseo que a ustedes tengan un feliz Año Nuevo. (How was that? My Spanish isn't that great, and my New Year's resolution is to try and learn more of it.)

Oh no!!! Another new year...

Be prepared for:

Year 1010 versus 2010

Why 2010 still isn't there yet

What can 2000 do that 2010 can't?

Why do you choose 2010 over 2009?

Things that you hate in 2010

After 2010, what is next?

can we beat 2010 in look?

Is 2010 for hobbyists?

Do you like 2010?

...time to move on from 2010 ? what years do you use

The reasons 2010 drives me back to 2004.

2010 or 2011?

a year... is it enough to make a good year?

:P

IMHO, it would be better to have a new year not that often ( maybe biennially? ), but to have a better year. :)

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Do you mid if i quote that for all those wishing to run ahead and dump the legacy ?
At this rate, if it isn't Grub2, please press #2 to hear a long boring advertisment as to how the super duper grub2 is so, so much better than grub 1 ..... looks for fine print ... ohhh, **** ... it don't do RAID .... Ah, well, we'll just forget the server market & go head to head with M$ --- anyone got a few £1,000,000,000.00 to spend on advertising, law suites for monopolies, patent infrigements...

Thank heavens in LTS, it does actually come bi-annually .... Hmm, do those guyz & glaz know it & just not telling the rest of us ?
"Come on every one, you know it's 2 years ... concentrate.... make it work ...., put the spliffs and alcohol down. Lets get the LTS out of the way, then we can really have some fun with the 6 monthly releases - lol"

Have a great one !!!

Happy New Year guys it's into the next day here in Australia & other than sleep deprivation I am shaping up well. Following on from other posts is this the year of the Linux desktop:confused: I had about 50 people over last night with my PC plugged into the my audio/video system with amarok going, it generated a lot of interest. So here's hoping for some more converts:guitar:

I would like to specially thank several of the contributors here who volunteer from around the World - Leppie, Meirfra, dcstar, audiomick, falconindy, Herman, drs305, blackened, lisati, lmarmisa and scores of other contributors, not to mention the support staff who have kept this forum clean, informative and to the point. I am sure several tens of thousands of Ubuntu users have been benefited from their advice making their experience with Ubuntu a memorable one.
