Hi,

Could someone please give me a detailed instruction on how to install Gnome Wallchanger? I'm new to Linux and haven't gotten a clue where to start after reading the site and forums...

Thank you,
B

The instructions are here:

If you are new to Linux, this is a difficult project. An easier choice would be to use Preferences/Appearance and click on the Background tab. Now you can explore how to add images as wallpaper.

You could also install drapes

sudo apt-get install drapes

You can have similar functionality with wallpaper-tray. Get it with your Synaptic Package Manager or enter this in terminal...

sudo apt-get install wallpaper-tray
Description-

This utility is a GNOME Panel Applet. It sets a random wallpaper
from a list of directories either at login, on a regular basis
or on demand.
Once installed right-click a panel, choose "Add to panel" and look for wallpaper-tray.

Webilder delivers stunning wallpapers to your Linux desktop, directly from Flickr and Webshots. You choose what keywords (tags) to watch for, and photos are automatically downloaded to your computer. Webilder can also change the wallpaper every few minutes. works with webshots as well.
http://www.webilder.org/ haven't used it for a while but It is very good linux webshots replacment.
