I followed this guide and installed Catalyst 9.12 with Ubuntu 9.10 ....

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300.
The desktop & applications all seem to work fine EXCEPT for video display ... eg playing a movie file (black screen), using the webcam results in a black screen ... (although i can take a still photo from the webcam but the video is black).
But I can play videos using the Open GL output with VLC player.
fglrx/catayst 9.12 was installed correctly with the fglrxinfo check.
