I'm trying to install Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit for the first time. I have verified the ISO file hash and created 2 good CDs. I have run both as live CDs on another PC so have verified they are good.

On the PC I am trying to install Ubuntu I get a screen of error messages (see attached JPEG) when I try to install or run the live CD. I have swapped the HDD drive our for a brand new unused one and get the same result - I have therefore ruled out the HDD.

I am using an Asrock socket 775 MoBo and Intel CPU.

Any advice or information would be most welcome.

Stephen

Check RAM for errors.
I believe the startupscreen of the livedisk has an option to do so..

Thanks Kellemes. I took your advice and ran a memory test - all OK. However, I tried installing the 64 Bit version and am pleased to report that I am writing this reply using the newly installed Ubuntu. Many thanks. Stephen
