ok, I'm installing HardY OS.. As it went thru partition I choose Manual, because I have a RAW HD waiting for Hardy to be installed.. So, It gives me an option..

Note: I have Windows Vista on my other Hard Drive

Create Partition

Type for the new partition: Logical or Primary

What should I choose? What's the difference between Logical and Primary?

Location for the new partition: Beginning or End
What should I choose?

Use as:
Ext3 Journaling file System
Ext2 file system
swap area
FAT 16 file system
FAT 32 file system
ReiserFS Journaling file System
JFS Journaling file System
XFS Journaling file System
EFI boot Partition
What should I choose?

Mount Point:
/
/boot
/home
/tmp
/usr
/var
/svr
/opt
/usr/local

What should I choose?

Also, I've seen a classmate of mine just hit a key and he switch his operating system, can someone tell me how does one do that?

Thank you for your assistance!:P

Hi & welcome to the forums,

Quick answer

1) select auto install - just make sure you point it to your empty hard disk.
When asked for swap, quick rule -- 1GB or what ever your RAM is (whichever is GREATER)

2) Sounds like he's either
a) running Wubi in windows
b) running windows in ubuntu virtual machine

As to 2), sounds like a virtual machine. I agree with phillw.
