Upgraded to 9.10 last week with only a language support issue.

Now, can no longer log in. When trying to log in, receive the message:

Install Problem!
The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager have not been installed correctly. Please contact your computer administrator.

After display of message, returns to log in screen. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

There is a thread for this over here --> http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1355880

Sadly, it also points to a triaged bug. Try what it says, else it's looking like a backup & re-install. Most odd - it's not a greatly reported bug & one of the other reporters reckon that he'd broken it himself - although he may have done more damage when he kcocked his system off during the backup.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Regards,

Phill.

No solution in that thread or any other that I've found.

No, I've had no joy looking for you, either. As a triaged bug - it's been noted, but no fix date given.

If there's nothing doing - it's time to back-up & re-install. This can work out less frustrating than digging round & round for a possible fix.

:(

Sorry I can't be of more assistance on this one.

Phill.

Have you tried this ? --> http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-980711.html

It's old, but the forced re-install may still do it... I guess it's worth a try.

Phill,

Thanks for your help. Did not see that thread before. Will try it out.
