Hi,
i was wondering if there is any alternative to the installed software which comes with any of the gps systems. Like rockbox you have for mp3 players.
I found some ideas, but haven't tried any so far.

This is kinda promising since you can use it on a cheap cellphone. Requires a little work.

Also i found this as an alternative to google etc..

And last this project which uses some closed source librabries. :(

I personally dig into the first option. Although i wish i could replace my tomtom software which is my ultimate goal.
If someone has a solution, please post it here.

Some people might but use their cellphones as gps device. That might be for me in the future, once i can afford a phone like that (with the expensive plan).

Thanks and please give your input. Its appreciated.

Is there a certain feature that you're looking to replace in your TomTom?
