I love the cli more. I've always loved text interfaces. But I use them nearly equaly. :)

Both , as the situation demands...CLI has its fair share of fun and so does the GUI ;)

use CLI mostly, the only real GUI apps I use are mirage(Image viewing) and Firefox.

I use Firefox/GIMP/Geany which are GUI apps.
For package management I use apt-get/apt-cache (actually macros to specific tasks, eg "ins <package>", or "pkgsch search terms")
For most file management I use CLI (eg cp/mv/cd/ls), although sometimes I do "nautilus ."
For repetitive stuff I almost always write a script. I enjoy writing scripts. :)

I use CLI very much and I voted CLI.
But I never used that Pinapple thing? What's that?

I use cli only if there's no gui available, or gui lacks some functionality.

Stupid poll.
I'm using the cli a LOT. But I'm using a web browser most of the time…

Well, I use my computer for browsing the internet, chatting, games, and making weird stuff in GIMP, so it's GUI for me... I use the CLI sometimes, when it's more convenient than using GUI, but not very often.

Here's something I don't get: Why do you never hear of a GUI text editor in the editor wars? Why are all of the "sacred" editors CLI editors? This isn't "why should I use Ei instead of vmacs," but rather "why should I use Ei/vmacs instead of gedit?"

Pineapple for sure! Screw Cli and GUI the Pineapple is where its at! Never mind its misspelling in the poll.

Both Emacs and vi have X versions. And because both Emacs and vi have been around way longer than gedit.

i use cli for music, editing and file management (for the most part) and gui for graphics, video and web browsing (using a text browser seems like having sex by mail).

I grew up with UNIX so that I'm more comfortable to use command lines. The issue using GUI is I don't know what command it is executing which makes me a little nervous.

Use it all the time in Linux. It's one the things I like about it. I still use the GUI often too, though. Probably 50/50 for me.

Half and half. It's so easy to click. It use to be to be a good sys admin you had to know the Cli. Now you just need to know which buttons to press.
I do run a headless web server, so I have to know the Cli. I refuse to put a GUI on it. In fact that's how I forced myself to learn the command line in Linux.

I am new to Linux so I use GUI for a start. But try to learn CLI later. I like to have the best of both word.
