Is there a way I can install Karmic on my 8.9" netbook (Asus 900ha) and use Gnome, rather than the UNR interface?
I am currently running eeebuntu 3.0 and getting the mic to work with Skype is a pain. I heard that Karmic has it working pretty easily, but I don't care for the UNR interface. I prefer a clean desktop.
However, I also want a resolution that fits my 1024 x 600 screen. I've done too much scrolling in the past.
[On a side note, I'm not really sure why there are so many spin-offs on Ubuntu, when usually there are just a couple of tweaks for each one. It seems rather an inefficient way to offer options.]
Thanks!
