Hi all,

For some reason my applications keep loading on the far bottom left of my monitor or far top right of my monitor, it depends on which ones. They never remember where I last positioned them, so if I position them in the middle of my monitor they will just load on the left or right side again. But it for some reason remembers the height and width, my screen resolution is 1920x1080, my NVIDIA driver version is 185.

Here's some odd ones

Firefox loads on the far top right
Terminal loads on the far bottom left
Songbird loads on the far bottom left
Gedit loads on the far bottom left

If you are using compiz go to ccsm and find place window plug in . Play with setting , maybe it helps .

Some progress is better than none . ;)
On the other hand you may try resetting gnome like this :
rm -rf .gnome .gnome2 .gconf .gconfd .metacity

and reboot.

That will not delete anything important but reset gnome to the way it was when you first installed it . All your documents and stuf should be fine , i did it few times when i was to playfull with special effects and such .
